Golden Sands is a modern resort with more than 50-year history and traditions! It features an incomparable combination of a unique national park, warm and clean sea water and fine golden sand!
Golden Sands was declared a protected territory in 1943. The tourist complex has an area of 177.13 hectares. In this way a large part of the park has been preserved in its natural state, with no human interference. The closeness of the sea, the mild climate and the sea breeze have had a strong influence on the flora and fauna of the park, for which reason it is distinguished from the other national parks. The dense deciduous forest with its tree tops wrapped in lianas gradually descends to the sea coast.
There are a number of restaurants, sports and entertainment facilities, located both along the beach and amidst the beautiful verdure. The golden beach starts literally from the foot of the forest, and the curative mineral springs form the resort’s enormous wealth.
Golden Sands resort is holder of the “Blue Flag” – a prestigious international award for an ecologically clean resort. The beach of the resort has a length of 3.5 km and at places its width reaches 100 m. The beach is flat, covered with fine golden sand and is known as one of the best sandy beaches in Europe. The sea bottom is also sandy and flat. There are no rocks and abrupt changes in the bottom level.
The clean and calm sea water has low salinity (lower than that of the Mediterranean Sea). It has no fishes and animals dangerous for the people, which makes it suitable for children and diving.
The climate is mild, temperate continental, close to the climate of the famous Mediterranean resorts.

VARNA
Varna is of the most ancient cities in Europe. In 6 c. BC, attracted by the extraordinary calmness of the Black Sea in this region, Greek sea farers from the town of Miletus reached the Thracian coasts and after long wars managed to found their own colony.
In the antiquity the town was known under the name of Odessos. Several cultural layers intertwine here – antiquity, Middle Ages, periods of the National Revival and the contemporaneity. It was not by accident that exactly here, on the outskirts of Varna, the excavations of the Varna Necropolis revealed the most ancient gold treasure on the planet (4th millennium BC), which today is exhibited in the Varna Archaeological Museum.
The proximity of the sea has a strong influence on the temperate continental climate in Varna. Spring here is cool, summer – moderately warm, autumn – calm, and winter is mild. The magnificent beaches and warm mineral springs, running for centuries both in Varna and its outskirts, determine the development of the city as a world-famous tourist centre. In 1926 Varna was declared a seaside resort.
Varna region is one of the main scientific and cultural centres of the country.
It has four higher education institutes. Varna is one of the most dynamically developing cities in Bulgaria. SAINT VLAS

NESSEBAR
Nessebar is a fabulously beautiful town located on a small rocky peninsula, connected to the mainland with a narrow isthmus. SOZOPOL
Sozopol is located 30 km south of Bourgas on a picturesque peninsula in the southern part of the Bourgas bay. Sozopol (Apollonia Pontica) was founded by the Miletus Greeks in 6 c. BC and is one of the most ancient Greek colonies along the Black Sea. Later it was called Sozopolis, i.e.”town of salvation”.
Nowadays Sozopol is especially attractive for the true connoisseurs of ancient architecture and romantic atmosphere. For many decades the narrow and steep cobbled streets of Sozopol, its wooden houses with protruding bay windows and red roof tiles have attracted actors, painters and poets, and namely in these houses one can find the unique fascination of Sozopol.
Sozopol offers its visitors various entertainments – water skiing, parachuting, hang-gliding, diving, “water banana“, water slides, windsurfing, and scooters.
